Langston Centre Junior Cotillion
The Langston Education and Arts Development, Inc. (LEAD) is the sponsor of the Langston Centre Junior Cotillion. The Langston Centre Junior Cotillion is intended to support the Centre’s educational efforts and services. The Junior Cotillion is held biennially with activities spanning a minimum duration of six months (March through August). Participation is open to young ladies aged 7 to 14. The program is designed to prepare young ladies aged 7 to 14 with an inclusive and age-appropriate activities of certain component of Debutant and other pageantry events. However, it is more of an intense development of social bonding rather than Debutant and pageantry attributes alone.
The Langston Centre Junior Cotillion mission is to foster stronger relationships with our community, family and friends. To encourage treating others as one wishes to be treated. To embrace new challenges with a positive attitude. To respond appropriately in social settings. To promote integrity, responsibility, and accountability.
Purpose:
The Junior Cotillion to invite young ladies for an intense learning experience that encompasses bonding, public speaking, social etiquette, encourages and promotes literacy, the arts, performing arts, and excellence. The Junior Cotillion aims to nurture future leaders to grow to be outstanding citizens. They will be empowered to exemplify the value of integrity, accountability, kindness, respect, and compassion. The Junior Cotillion prepares and creates a pipeline to the Debutant experience and pageant involvement. In the future, we would like to the Junior Cotillion to include young men in this developmental training and expand the Cotillion’s features with “Tween and Teen” sessions for age 9 through 14.
